DON’T JUST LOOK AT THE PRICE WHEN CHOOSING A TRANSFORMER
If two transformers with the same capacity are placed side by side, most people will look at the price first. That is completely normal. But experienced engineers often ask a different first question: “Over the next 25 years, which transformer will actually cost less?” Because the purchase price is paid only once. Energy losses, on the other hand, are paid every day, every month, and throughout the entire service life of the transformer. Every transformer has energy losses. Among them, no-load loss is the electricity consumed even when no load is connected. As long as the transformer is energized, this loss still exists — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The difference between two transformers may be only a few hundred watts. On a datasheet, that seems like a very small number. But when multiplied by 8,760 hours per year, and then by 20 or 25 years of operation, that small difference can turn into tens or even hundreds of millions of VND, depending on transformer capacity and electricity prices. That is why professional investors do not compare purchase price alone. They also evaluate the Life Cycle Cost (LCC). A transformer with a higher upfront price but lower losses can help businesses save much more over its lifetime. This is no longer just a purchasing decision. It is an investment decision. At THIBIDI transformer, every transformer is designed to optimize efficiency, reduce energy losses, and deliver long-term economic value throughout its operating life. A good transformer is not the one with the lowest purchase price. It is the one that delivers the lowest total cost of ownership.
